Open teams are made up of adults who want to continue playing ringette past the age of 18 years old. In Muskoka, Open (18+) teams are available as player numbers and skill level allow. During the season, the team will decide on tournaments to play together, and will register for those tournaments. The Muskoka Ringette Association provides administrative and technical support, but the teams are largely self-sufficient. These teams pay a registration deposit, which covers administrative fees and the Ringette Ontario player fee. This deposit will be fully refunded if a team is not able to form due to a lack of players or skill level. The level of competition and expectation of commitment varies based on the level of play (AA, A, B, or even AA ringette all allow for Open (18+) teams to form).

Player registration influences the array of team options available to players. Players should register at the level appropriate for their skill level (at the Open level, all players must be over 18 years old to play). In 2026/2027, the Muskoka Ringette Association is open to hosting the following teams:

Unlike regional and provincial teams, Open (18+) tournament teams make independent choices regarding where and when they play. Players on an Open team will be responsible for the following costs on top of their registration deposit:
