The FUNdamentals program is designed to help prepare young and/or new players for a lifetime of ringette fun. (For more information on this progressive program, check out this link from Ringette Ontario.
FUN1 is suited for school-aged (born in 2022 or older) skaters who are new to ringette to help them build their basic skills, learn basic game structure, and experience fun & friendship in a team sport environment. Players are expected to attend weekly practices. Skaters require hockey-style skates, full protective gear (shin guards, girdle/pants OR socks/hockey shorts, chest protector, elbow pads, neck guard, gloves), a ringette stick and a CSA-approved helmet with ringette cage.

Graduated Programming:
The FUNdamentals program is specifically designed to help players find the right level of play quickly. As players progress in skill level, they will be offered the chance to move up in level as appropriate for their age, skill and the time of year. If it makes sense to move a player mid-season, this will be discussed with parents to make the right decision for each player.
Registration Fee:
$275 - Earlybird Price (before July 1, 2026) - use the code EARLYROYAL
$350 - Regular Price (after July 1, 2026)
Practice Times:
To be announced when confirmed by our arenas
Optional Fees:
All regular costs to play a full season of ringette are included in our player registration fees. Throughout the year, optional opportunities may be offered, which sometimes come with an extra cost, paid directly by parents. These may include:
These additional costs are generally optional and will be communicated in advance to player families to make decisions. The Muskoka Royals are also exploring team fundraising options to help keep these optional costs as low as possible.
Player Safety / Respect in Sport:
Parents must be in the arena when their kids are in the arena or appoint another adult as caretaker of their player while away. Like most organized sports, all registered players must submit proof of completion of the Respect In Sport For Parents program for at least one parent/guardian before the player steps onto the ice. It is a one-time course, so if a parent/guardian has already taken it for another child or sport, there is no need to do it again: simply provide the unique completion code during registration or via email to development@muskokaroyals.com.
