Springette is here!
For the first time in... forever? the Muskoka Ringette Association is launching spring ringette, known affectionately around the ringette world as "springette"!
Springette is an informal chance for your player to continue developing their skills in a local setting that is fun, inclusive and a little bit silly! This program is open to all ringette players in the Muskoka region and beyond, as well as those who are looking for a fun sport on ice to keep cool as the weather gets warmer.
Each game is run with referees and bench staff to keep everything moving, but doesn't bring the same intensity as regular season play. This year, we're planning for three age groups:
- FUN2/FUN3 (ages 6-9)
- U12/U14 (ages 10-13)
- U16+ (ages 14+, including adults who are looking for some light, informal ringette fun).
Sessions happen once a week over 6 weeks in May and June. Registration includes:
- Six hour-long game sessions
- Fully refereed and supported by bench staff
- A jersey or pinny to use as required.
- A whole lot of fun!
Please take note of the following:
- Parents not required on the ice but do need to stay in the arena
- Players who have already paid for their Ringette Ontario fee this year are exempt from that fee for springette, new players need to pay for this fee ($60) to cover insurance and other important costs.
- Players may be recommended to move to another level based on skill, experience and capacity. We'll work with you to find the right spot for your ringette superstar!
- We will be looking for a few coaches at each level, bench staff (to open the bench doors) and time/score keepers. Springette is a small commitment and a great way to jump in a learn a little more about the sport and how you can be involved!
Registration is now open, and we'd love to see you on the ice this spring. Register on RAMP, by clicking on the link below.
